Does job searching count?
Job searching on its own does not count. Work, service, school or a qualifying work program may count.
I do gig work
Keep your pay records and your business costs. We need net earnings after costs, or a record of your work hours.
I am in school
Half-time school or more can meet the rule. Below half-time, credits can count as hours. Six credits give 77.94 hours a month under the federal formula.
I care for a family member
You may be exempt. You do not always need 80 hours of care. The rules depend on who you care for, where you live and the care you give.
I got a notice
The rule treats a notice as received five days after its printed date. It then allows 30 calendar days to reply. Keep proof if it arrived later. Ask the state or legal aid about your date.
